Lead Legal - Organizational Environment and Contract Management

The incumbent is responsible for reviewing current legislation, regulations, policies and procedures to make recommendations, draft updates and new guidelines for an effective  eHCM  operating environment.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

High demand, project based work environment.

Reports to: 
Executive Manager Portfolio Management Office and or his designate
Supervision given to: 
NA
Duties and Responsibilities: 
  1. Analyses the operating environment and makes recommendations for updates and improvements to existing policies and procedures.
  1. Reviews existing legislation and regulations affecting the eHCM operating environment and drafts new guidelines, policies and procedures aligned to project goals.
  1. Reviews, negotiates and drafts contracts related to eHCM operations.
  1. Establishes and maintains compliance processes to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  1. Conducts risk assessments related to legal and regulatory compliance in the eHCM domain.
  1. Develops and implements strategies to effectively mitigate legal and regulatory risks.
  1. Provides leadership in legal matters, guiding the project team and other stakeholders.
  1. Communicates legal updates, guidelines and changes to relevant stakeholders.

9. Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Experience and Training: 

1. Eight to Ten (8-10) years experience managing large scale legal portfolios in a high quality project driven environment.

2. Advanced understanding of public sector legal  systems.

3. Experience with legal drafting principles and methods.

4. Proven experience with contract  negotiations and management.

Knowledge: 

1. Bachelor Degree in Law from a recognised University.

2. Legal Education Certificate would be an asset.

3. Post graduate qualifications would be an asset.
